There is something to the tiny twinkling earthen lamps that are lit during the festival of Diwali or Deepavali. The lamps signify the triumph of light over darkness. They not only remove the darkness, but also spread cheer and joy among Indians across the globe. It is this widespread joy and the prettiness of lights everywhere that makes this my favourite festival.
