The World Around Me

Very few restaurants in Bangalore leave you overwhelmed in awe once you enter them. Olive Beach, situated in Ashok Nagar, Bangalore is one such place.

The enchantment begins at first sight – through two massive, blue wooden double doors is a very swish tropical white-washed beach spot, complete with bubbling brooks that run through the restaurant and white pebble pathways with white marble slabs that greet you.

Olive Beach does a great job with the ambience and music. We were seated outdoors under the trees in the pebbled al fresco area. The service is good and as soon as you place your order you unlock a limitless supply of fresh breads, some stuffed with pesto or drizzled with sea salt or baked with a multitude of grains and nuts. My favourite was the rosemary and sea salt rolls, which were really tasty! Then came the smoked chicken salad which was good and the fresh calamari was absolutely divine (Must try! – an opinion of a non sea food lover, so it has to count) We also had wood smoked chicken risotto with thyme and an amazing cajun spiced chicken dish!

The best thing that we had here apart from the Calamari was the Lemon Mousse. A dish with several intricate tastes, each sending you a step higher on the stairway to heaven – with mint, caramel and hints of lemon at each bite!

All in all *Olive Beach hat mir gefallen!* or in english – I’ve fallen for this place!

This experience has pushed this place to the second spot on my list of favourite restaurants in Bangalore, second only to Sunny’s and Toscano (Both at #1)
